Diego de Landa was his name when he arrived under the behest of his master, Binah, issued command from the Demiurge himself. With the armed forces of Netzach, Binah carried the religious dominance to destroy mankind's memory of a power once attained. It was a zealous conversion and was done with malice and no quarter. Posing as an ethnographer, even history picks up on his extreme nature as an inquisitor. Diego's most heinous actions was the ruthless repression of a revivalist group, tracked down them like dogs and tortured them in all manner within the Lictor's grasp. He used his converts and others from Metropolis against the human following of the old ways, and burned entire villages of them en masse.
And while history does note Diego de Landa's sadism, it also holds him in a high regard, his letters speaking of some respect for Mayan culture, less than his own, but still once mighty, though no longer. The classicism of the Maya that would soon follow would condemn the Aztecs to blood-thirsty inheritors of something now laughed about with mentions of aliens and ufos. The first bishop of the Yucután's legacy lived on and an entire country soon bowed to Binah. Hareb-Serap and Golab cast out, while the pure and higher sephiroth, Binah endured prominence and fear.
The disappearance of the demiurge was the beginning of the end for the bishop who has passed on many centuries and guises. He sees it as a losing battle now, but he does not break from her and instead remains steadfast, content in his role. Binah's power within Mexico is still strong, but now it is more perverted with old ways, now more barbaric and primal to invoke dismissal of the boundaries. The church though loved is now an external factor in their religion. The people now feel the blood of Christianity boiling within each of them but now they realize they must let it flow to achieve what he was sent here for. The Lictor holds many azghouls and pawns throughout the city and his power is enviable, however, the Lictor has no more cards. Favours are falling as his power diminishes.
Now Bishop Guerrero, he faces the task of holding Catedral Metropolitana from Inferno and taking his chances where best he can, maintaining the Illusion with what ever means necessary.
appearance: Always smiling, short and possibly Mayan/Asian descent. The squat priest hobbles about with good speed. Even beyond his seemingly humble nature, there is a remark of power surrounding him, as though one word could snap a situation.
personality: Friendly, chatting with intelligence and wit. Questions are always leading and revert to comprehending ones fragility within this world, through the implications of Christianity.
game-mastering hints: Maintain the Illusion through the grace of Binah. Christianity is the tool. You smile, you are beneficient, you are closer to divine, and you lead by example. You are a man of the people and children will kiss you. You are a Lictor. Maintain the Illusion. Use people's confliction of faith.
plot points: The Lictor, Bishop Antonio Guerrero, plays many roles within the campaign infrastructure. He is the central player in keeping the Illusion in tact. While his power is on the wane, he still wields an impressive iron glove on the city and his filaments of power are deeply rooted in all aspects of life. He recently lost control of the police to Golab, but maintains the upper levels of control so far. The Lictor will slowly fall in love with the concept of Sofia del Sol, the fallen angel as a miracle to draw the people stronger to the religion.
